Language Courses

    Language courses are offered by Radboud in'to Languages and can be followed by MPI employees/PhD students. 

    Regulations

    New employees, just arriving from abroad, with a contract for a minimum of three year, are eligible to follow a Dutch group course from Radboud in'to Languages on MPI costs. It is required that you register for the first available course after the start date of your contract!

    For all courses that are part of the language policy discount scheme (Taalbeleidkortingsregeling), the written approval (by letter of email) of your department director/group leader is required. To register for a course, an E-number is required. You can request Angela Heuts in HR to issue this E-number for you. 

    Courses

    Please find here an overview of courses with the discount applicable for MPI employees/PhD students:

    • Social Dutch - up to a maximum of two courses can be taken free of charge
    • Group courses Dutch and English with open registration - part of the language policy discount scheme (Taalbeleidkortingsregeling), 50% discount
    • Tailor-made courses Dutch and English - part of the language policy discount scheme (Taalbeleidkortingsregeling), 50% discount
    • 5-day immersion programme German and French - 50% discount
    • All other courses with open registration and tailor-made courses - 10% discount

    Very important

    After you have registered for such a course, please send a separate email to info@into.ru.nl informing them that you have registered with your E-number from MPI for a course that falls under the language policy discount scheme. Then the Service Center can process it further manually and apply the applicable discount. 

    And please ask them to issue the invoice to the following address: Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, Attn. of Operations, Postbus 310, 6500 AH Nijmegen, and send it to the email address invoice-psyl@gv.mpd.de. As payment reference, your name should be given. 

    You will receive confirmation of the registration by email. Please forward this email to Angela Heuts in HR, together with the written approval from your department director. It is required to give a copy of the certificate to HR after the course has been completed. 

    Any additional course you wish to follow after the first course will have to be paid by yourself. Please note that the books you purchase for the course cannot be reimbursed by the MPI.
