Adobe Creative Cloud

Per 1st of January 2021 the licensing method of Adobe software products (Creative Cloud, Creative Suite, Creative Document) was changed drastically. This means you may have to use alternatives.

    The TG recommends the following:

    • PDF editing could be done with PDF Xchange Pro (already installed).
    • Photoshop/Illustrator jobs could be done using respectively Affinity’s ‘Photo’ and ‘Designer’.
    • Audio editing could be done in Audacity.
    • For basic video editing we recommend BlackMagic’s DaVinci Resolve – which incidentally also has a much more intuitive interface than Premiere Pro.

Please use the software request form in case you want to have any of these installed.

For special cases, where the use of Adobe Creative Cloud applications is essential (certain Photoshop<>Lightroom<>Bridge or Premiere<>After Effects workflows for example) please contact helpdesk@mpi.nl.
TG will set up a Business (federate) Adobe Identity for you to use. This means you can log on to Adobe CC applications using your MPI mail address and MPI password. This information will not be transmitted to Adobe. Of course you could use your own personal Adobe account as well. It is not possible to run Adobe CC apps when you remotely connect to your MPI PC. More information about Business and personal accounts can be found here.

Start the Adobe CC application you want to use, an logon windows will appear. Enter your MPI email address as name.

In the next window, select MPI for Psycholinguistics from the drop-down list.

In the next window, enter you MPI email address and password.

    Now the application should start.
