Online conferencing
Available services for online meetings at the institute.
Offices & meeting rooms
- Zoom Meetings video conferencing platform. Every department has a shared Zoom account available, which allows for meetings with up to 300 people. Automated captioning is available. Details about the account can be requested with the department secretary.
- Zoom Webinars for hosting larger online events, such as conferences & workshops (up to 1000 participants). The MPI has a dedicated zoom account for Webinars. please e-mail helpdesk@mpi.nl for details and inquiries.
- BBB (BigBlueButton) hosted by the GWDG: https://meet.gwdg.de (login with MPI e-mail address and MPI password!)
- Kandao 360 meeting camera in meeting rooms (264/364/236/336/a229/a325). This is a dedicated 360 meeting-camera for hybrid Zoom meetings with small groups. Instructions on how to use this camera with Zoom are available in the room.
- USB-Webcams and headsets for desktop use. Please contact us if you need one.
Online conferencing in 163
The auditorium can also be used for online conferencing. The following options are available:
- Zoom/BBB Meetings. (lab)meetings and other group meetings can be held in 163. Please follow the instructions found in the room to successfully setup a meeting.
- Zoom Webinars. for hosting larger online events. Please contact helpdesk@mpi.nl for assistance when setting up a Webinar in 163.
- Live-streaming/Recording. Mediasite system. Events such as colloquia, conferences, staff meetings and talks can be broadcast via a live-stream. Recording of events is possible as well. Recordings are stored locally on the MPI Mediasite server. Guidelines and requirements for live-streaming/recording can be found on this page.
