OwnCloud

    OwnCloud enables you to connect to folders on the corporate (MPG) ownCloud server (at GWDG). Your initial storage is 50 GB. You can share the folders with other users worldwide and/or keep the content automatically synced with local ownCloud folders on multiple devices. 

    There are two ways to use the ownCloud service:

    • Webinterface: the web interface is for brief browsing, uploading, sharing, and deleting files. Login with your MPI email address and password. 
    • ownCloud client (Windows, Mac OS, Linux): the access via the client is more suitable for synchronising folders that change more often. The ownCloud client has to be installed on your MPI desktop computer by the TG. 

    After installation:

    1. Provide server name: owncloud.gwdg.de 
    2. Provide credentials (MPI email address and password)
    3. Select folder(s) on server you want to sync with folders on local pc
    4. Select and/or create a local folder you want to sync with folder on server
    5. Connect and sync
